A Vision for Community & Legacy
Nestled in the heart of Simcoe, Ontario, Wellington Park has been a cherished Community Hub for generations. With its tranquil walking paths, scenic waterway system and rich local history, the park is a treasure in Norfolk County.
Now with your support, the Simcoe Lions Club is launching the Wellington Park Project—the first phase in our mission to revitalize Wellington Park into a modern, vibrant space for families, music, events and community gatherings.
The goal is to start with the pavilion (funding permitted) as it is a symbol of unity, pride and our shared commitment to a better tomorrow.

This beautifully designed structure will serve as a central stage and gathering place—our gateway to our downtown, a new heartbeat for Wellington Park where stories are told, music played and memories made.
We’re calling on local businesses, families and community leaders to stand with us as stewards of Simcoe’s green heart. Let’s build something lasting together.
We have approximately $250,000.00 in funding prior to launching fund raising
The Pavilion
Funding permitted will see a Pavilion constructed on the site in Wellington Park where the flags are currently located and the former fountain.
The pavilion will be 40 foot dodecagon (12 sided) steel structure. To impede vandalism the only wood used will be on the ceiling of the structure to enhance acoustics.
▶There will be steel benches inside around the perimeter
▶Security cameras will be installed
▶LED lighting for attraction and to enhance panorama and assist with security
▶The Pavilion will be fitted with electrical and water services
Construction drawings were prepared by Vallee Engineering (thanks for their support) and are now complete.
Pricing has been acquired by local contractors and the complete project will cost approximately $600,000.00.
Our goal is to have shovels in the ground by the Fall of 2027.
Bonnie Drive Development
Bonnie Drive is to include 3 to 4 concrete triangular pads as shown above. It is well noted that the picnic tables currently situated on the grass are well used during spring and summer.
This enhancement will not only provide a level area, but provide an attractive space to be used by all. Plantings, picnic tables and garbage receptacles will be provided.
The Healing Garden
Feed Back has been very positive on this feature. The Healing Garden seems to be one of the most desirable attributes for the park. A simple place to read a book, reflect on life, grieve, have lunch or just relax. A lot of these Healing Gardens are being constructed with Indigenous participation, which parking to name a few can be reviewed online.
Funding permitted there is talk of further work including playpark, washrooms and increased parking to name a few.
